We’ve all got to pay to play!  It’s not worth the risk of fishing without the correct license.  And hey–the sales of licenses in NC go right back into the waters and lands we recreate on for protection, conservation, and restoration.  To fish for trout in North Carolina, you need either an inland comprehensive license or a fishing license with an additional special trout privilege.  You can head many of your local big box stores in their sporting goods departments and let them know that you want to fish for trout and they’ll take care of you–make sure for your own protection that you have either an inland comprehensive item or a regular fishing license with the addition of a special trout privilege.

You can process your license online here.
